Create and Sketch

A designer’s goal in any sewing project is to understand what he wants to create, how he wants to create it, and with what tools the project can be accomplished successfully. In this case, the designer is creating a 90-degree-circular-skirt with a length of about three inches above the knee and a big bow of a contrasting color on the bottom of the skirt. He needs to take the appropriate body measurements for this project. As far as colors and the choice of fabric, in this project a pale pink Dupont silk is used. Accessories include rubber band for the belt, green lace for the bow, and thread, matching the color of silk. Tools include sewing machine; white poster-type paper, awl, straight and French rulers for pattern-making; measuring tape for measurements, air erasable pen, and pins for sewing. This bow front skirt will be used for dancing lessons such as ballroom dancing; therefore, it is wide, allowing free movement of the body, light in weight (no lining will be used for this skirt), and fun in design. Shop assistants in Kohls Coupons and Children's Place Coupon are ready to help you with the choice of pattern or silk.
To construct a sketch for a bow front skirt, one can use colored pencils and plain white drawing pad. It is important to portray the skirt as close to the idea as possible to avoid confusion in design in later project stages. Sketching allows designers to manipulate the colors, designs, and accessories used in their projects on paper, forecasting possible mistakes, problem areas, and new ideas.
