designer’s goal in any sewing project is to understand what he
wants to create, how he wants to create it, and with what tools the
project can be accomplished successfully. In this case, the designer
is creating a 90-degree-circular-skirt with a length of about three
inches above the knee and a big bow of a contrasting color on the bottom
of the skirt. He needs to take the appropriate body measurements for
this project. As far as colors and the choice of fabric, in this project
a pale pink Dupont silk is used. Accessories include rubber band for
the belt, green lace for the bow, and thread, matching the color of
silk. Tools include sewing machine; white poster-type paper, awl, straight
and French rulers for pattern-making; measuring tape for measurements,
air erasable pen, and pins for sewing. This bow front skirt will be
used for dancing lessons such as ballroom dancing; therefore, it is
wide, allowing free movement of the body, light in weight (no lining
